The results are in! The winner of the 2017 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin is the Oshkosh Corporation’s Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV). The JLTV is the next generation of all-terrain vehicles for the US military, providing better protection, speed, efficiency and maneuverability. The vehicle beat out 16 other contestants who were part of the annual contest sponsored by the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC). The competition, dubbed Manufacturing Madness, brought in tens of thousands of votes for the coolest products manufactured in Wisconsin. From those votes, 16 front-runners emerged, who were then placed into March Madness-style brackets. After two rounds of voting, the pool narrowed down to the Final Four: Ariens Company's Sno-Thro, Generac Power Systems' XC Generator, Mercury Marine's Joystick Piloting System, and Oshkosh Corporation's Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. Oshkosh Corporation's JLTV was declared the winner on October 16 at the WMC Foundation's State of Wisconsin Business & Industry Luncheon. WMC partnered with Johnson Financial Group for this year's contest in an effort to draw attention to the state's manufacturing prowess.
